Abstract

The effect of nimodipine preoperatively use on spontan subarachnoid hemorrage is investigated. Total 102 patients, 51 of them treated with anti-edema preoperatively (mean age 53.6) and the other 51 nimodipine 360 mg/day (mean day 16.3) added to anti-edema treatment (mean age 50.9). Cerebral angiography performed on 44 patients in nimodipine group and 24 intracranial aneursym determined. In this group, 27 patients had 110 neurological deficit, 12 patients had permenants neurological deficit and there were 12 exitus. In control group, cerebral angiograpby performed on 43 patients and 32 intracranial aneursym deter-mined. In this group 25 patients had no neurological deficit, 13 patients neurological deficit and there were 13 exitus. Results of these two groups compared "X quare" and "wilcoxon" tests. These two groups are stastically insignificant.Adding nimodipine to preoperatively treatment of subarachnoid hemorrage had no effect on prognosis.
