Abstract

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic demyelinating central nervous system disease which frequently causes disability. After the patient has been diagnosed as MS, the adaptation period starts. The family life, working conditions and social life of the patients may change and they may lose their own autonomy. In psychotherapy it is priority to inform the patient about MS. The problems and the ways of solving them must be discussedtogether. The expression of emotions has to be encouraged. While coping with maladaptive patterns patients are helped tor devoloping new aims and interests. The aim of this study is to explore the influence of group therapy on the level of depression,anxiety, anger, the ways of expressing anger and to see which healing factors are more useful.
