Abstract

Scientific Background: Plexopathies are relatively rarely seen cases in the electromyography (EMG) laboratories comparing with other cases. lts diagnosis may be difficult because it is rare and because nonneurologist physcians' insufficient knowledge and experience about idiopathic plexitis may be responsible for delaying and troubles in diagnosis. Findings: Only 93 (2.95 %) from 4708 studies performed in one EMG equipment in our laboratory for last 3 years were plexopathies and 4 (0.08 %) of them were idiopathic plexitis. Conclusion: In this study 2 acute idiopathic plexitis cases one is diagnosed in our EMG laboratory as neuralgic amyotrophy with reflex sympathetic dystrophy and the other as idiopathic lumbosacral plexitis vere presented and discussed.
