Abstract

Background: Bilateral striopalidodentate calcinosis (BSPDC) is a rare disorder where bilateral, symmetric, calcium and other mineral deposits occur in basal ganglia, thalamus, cerebellum, and white matter of the cerebral hemisphere. Neurological findings vary but movement disorders are the most common. Objectives: We report the clinical, neuroimaging and therapy results of 5 patients with BSPDC and review cases from literature. Discussion: Neurological disorders associated with BSPDC may show varied response to therapy.
