Abstract

The research on the role of cytokines in MS has gained more interest especiallyafter the widespread clinical application of IFN-beta treatment far this disease. The intense laboratory and clinical work on the field, however, have suggested that the cytokines could be of help in following the course and planning the treatmentof MS. In this study, the levels of proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1, IL-2, TNF-? and IFN-?) that are thought to have an important roles in immunological and clinical course of MS have been evaluated duringexacerbation and post-treatment period.
