Chronic Hiccup in an Elder Case and Baclofen: Case Report

Abstract

Hiccup is a reflex motion of diaphragm, intercostal muscles, plica and glottis altogether. It may occur due to various etiologies of many systems. Acute cases recover spontaneously. Chronic hiccup necessitates further evaluation and medical treatment may be needed. In this paper, chronic hiccup in an elder case is evaluated regardingetiological factors, treatment regime and its difficulties.
