Abstract

Background: Tumour like multiple sclerosis (MS) represents an atypical pattern of presentation. imaging features suggestive of demyelination are important to avoid unnecessary aggresive treatment for tumour. Objective: We present a case of multipl sclerosis simulating brain tumor on magnetic resonance images. We describe the unusual enhancement pattern of tumefactive MS lesion. Findings: Magnetic Resonance lmaging demonstrated diffuse use heterogenously enhancing mass lesion. The lesion showed significant regression of enhancement, edema and mass effect during follow up steroid therapy. Conclusion: The diffuse heterogenous enhancement pattern of MS plaquesshould be taken into consideration for the differential diagnosis of solitary brain lesions.
