Abstract
The prognostic value of admission bloocl pressure (BP) and BP changes during the first 7days were investigatecl in 147 acute stroke patients of whom 40 had intracerebralhemorrhage ancl 107 had hemispheric infarction. The patients were evaluatecl in two groups according to the lesion type; infarct and hemorrhage. There was no statistical significans between the admission bloocl pressures of both groups. We also coulcl not find any relation between blood pressures and outcome, but we demonstrated a marked fail in systolic BP levels during the first 7 days, with no or little change in diastolic BP levels in all patients.
