Treatment Strategies in Autoimmune Neurological Diseases

Abstract

The understanding of immune mechanisms in neurological diseases has been improvingand specific treatment strategies directed at the relevant immunological steps have beendefined, although not being specifically aimed at the underlying etiology. On the otherhand, new information on the currently used non-specific treatment modalities have beengained. Recent introduction of these treatment strategies into clinical practice resulted in a higher need of up to date knowledge on the clinicians' side.
