Abstract

Restless legs syndrome is a disorder characterized by uncomfortable deep paresthesias in the legs and occasionally in the arms which occur at rest and releave by movement. It is a frequent cause of insomnia and most often occurs in association with periodic leg movements in sleep. Although this syndrome is idiopathic in most patients, potential etiologic factors should be investigated before beginning symptomatic therapy. Here we report three patients with symptoms of restless legs syndrome who became asymptomatic after iron substitution.
