Abstract

Radial motor and sensory nerve conduction studies are infrequently performed in most EMG laboratories. This is largely due to the routine use of needle electrodes in the study of this nerve. We used superficial recording electrodes and determined the normal radial nerve conduction values in order to make this test easier and more applicable. We performed forearm-elbow radial motor conductions in 49 healthy controls; elbow-spiral groove conductions in 25 and elbow-axilla conductions in 23. Radial nerve forearm sensory conduction was done in 26 normal controls using the orthodromic method. Results were compared with those of the previous studies.
