Basic Guidelines And New Strategies İn Vertigo Management

Abstract

in recent years, with better understanding of neurochemistry and pharmacology ofvestibular system, new treatment strategies for vertigo and related symptoms have been recommended in the direction of pathophysiology of these symptoms in this review, basic guidelines in vertigo management, i.e. pharmacological therapy, vestibular rehabilitaton and vestibular surgery have been described. Alsa possible treatment strategies in future and new fındings on vestibular ionotropic and metabotropic receptors, central vestibularplasticity and vestibular compensation mechanisms have been reviewed.
