Abstract

Although dysarthria because of cerebellar disfunction is well known, total aphasia due to mutism after posterior fossa surgery is a very rare complication. It may be seen with neither cranial nerve deficits nor conscious disorders. Although this phenomen is not related with tumor type, it shows close relation with tumor size and especially in childhood medulloblastomas. We report a cerebellar mutism and subsequent dysarthria case which has been seen following posteior fossa surgery.
