University Students' Method and Doctor Preference in Headache Treatment

Abstract
Background: Migraine and tension type headache are chronic pain types, which affect life quality and may lead to important decrease in productive effort and economic losses. Determining the attitude towards these diseases in the affected population may contribute to health services. Objective: Our aim was to determine the traditional or medication methods that the students used and the doctors they preferred when attending for their primary headache problems. Materials and methods: 2023 students were selected with randomized sampling method and evulated with inquiry forms.Conclusion: Number of students with migraine diagnosis who chose traditional medication methods and attended neurologists were higer than the number of students with tension type headache diagnosis.
