Abstract
Background: Generally in the literatures, cognitive functions examined on the brain damaged patients, functional disorders are evaluated according to the localization of the lesion. Eleetrophsyologic and funetional imaging methods weren't studied together with cognitive functions in healthy individuals. Objective: Recently executive functions are uncertain and in discussion we aimed that examination of some of the executive funetions in healthy volunteers about localisation and connection of the different brain regions with electrophysiologic (digital EEG) and perfusion (SPECT) methods at the same time. Method: According to Borland Delphi 4-0 program, subjects received from the computer screen some of the stimulus (target word, meaningful word, meaningful-meaningless sentences, target picture and figure choosing) and during dijital EEG, shating at the same time IV contrast given to the subjects and SPECT was applied.Findings: The evaluated executive functions were confirmed at the same time with SPECT and with EEG analyses relationship between this funetions and frontal lobe. Lateralisation wasn't seen in SPECT but with EEG analysis in the majority frontal lobe alpha and beta wave desencronisation are very important alternations for executive functions. Conclusions: Executive functions are generally releated to frontal lobe, according to this, the brain activity affects left hemisphere, right central anterior frontal lobe also contributes to this function.
