Abstract
OBJECTIVE: In this study, we studied the diagnostic value of LLR’s and
their correlation with the disability in patients with MS
METHODS: In our clinic, we studied 32 MS patients
having ‘definite MS’ according to Poser and Mc Donald criteria and 25
healty controls prospectively. Routine neurologic examination and LLR’s
were done in both gruopes. EDSS was obtained in all MS patients.
RESULTS: The elongation of LLR II latencies were seen in MS patients. We
found significant correlation between LLR II and EDSS (p<0.05) in MS
patients. When we looked at this correlation in both groupes, the cor-
relation was more significant (p<0.02). In the study, we found the LLR
pathologic, in a case whose EDSS score was 0.0, therefore we thought
that LLR could be useful in subclinical cases in MS diagnosis.
CONCLUSION: Easily performed LLR, showing concordance with the dis-
ability may be helpful in the MS diagnosis
