Özet

Scientific BACKGROUND: Pontine hemorrhages frequently lead to death or severe disability. The prognosis depends on size, location, extent of the hematoma and clinical presentation. Mortality rate was reported as 40-60% in recent studies.

OBJECTIVE: In this paper, two patients with pontine hematomas with the typical signs of the pontine hematoma including coma, oculomotor disturbances, respiratory and motor disturbances have been reviewed. Both patients made a good outcome.

CONCLUSION: Our observations suggest that some patients with pontine hematoma may present with severe clinical manifestations, but have a good prognosis. Early treatment may significantly contribute to this good prognosis.
