Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a disorder observed in neurological practice with one of the most dramatic course. Frontal lobe dementia (FLD) has recently been recognized to be more prevalent than expected among ALS cases, as supported by clinical evidence on ALS patients with accompanying cognitive disorder in varying degrees consistent with frontal lobe impairment. We examined three cases in the last three years, who could be evaluated in this context. Frontal lobe dysfunction was the presenting and predominant finding in disease course in two of the cases. Clinicalfeatures, disease course, electrophysiological and neuroimaging examinations were evaluated. Frontal lobe impairment may sometimes accompany ALS and motor functions must cautiously be assessed in cases with isolated FLD.

Keywords: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, dementia, frontal lobe dementia.
