Spinal cord compression due to extramedullary haematopiesis is a rare but well definedcomplication in a number of hematologic disorders including b thalassemia. A patient withß thalassemia intermedia who had symptoms of spinal cord compression for two yearsrecovered without any sequela after radiotherapy. Our experience supports the rol of MRIfinding in diagnosis and presents the results of radiotherapy in a delayed case.
