Status Epilepticus Due To Hypocalcemia in The Adults

Hypocalcemia is usually associated with hypoparathyroidism. The neurological symptomsare due to the enhanced excitability of the nervous system. In these patients, statusepilepticus very rarely occurs. Two patients with status epilepticus picture admitted tocausalty ward. Their blood chemistry revealed low calcium, high phosphorus andparathormon levels. Intravenous calcium replacement therapy were started and seizureswere stopped with normalization of serum calcium levels.
