Apomorphine, a D 1 and D2 receptor agonist was the first dopaminergic drug everused to treat symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD). In the last decade subcutaneous infusions of apomorphine have been shown to improve motor complications of late stage PD. in this article treatment with the apomorphine in PD and its role as a diagnostic tool far assessing dopaminergic responsiveness are reviewed.
